Výška v dospělosti: 5–7 metrů
Patří k menším a spíše pomalu rostoucím palmám, dorůstající do výšky až 5 metrů. Tvoří odnože. Listy mají většinou modrošedou barvu s bílým ojíněním, jsou dlanité, až metr dlouhé s metr dlouhými řapíky. Dospělé rostliny mají listy až 1,5 metru široké. Květenství je až 3 metry dlouhé a dvoudomé, plodem je hnědá peckovice. Kmen palmy po oplození umírá a nahrazují ho další mladší odnože.
Nannorrhops ritchiana vyžaduje přes léto velmi teplé stanoviště. Nemá ráda přemokření, a to zejména v zimě. V případě celoročního venkovního pěstování vyžaduje spíše sušší stanoviště. Zimní kryt z polykarbonátu je potřebný, a to i s možností vytápění.
